I'm a freelance underwater cameraman based on the Sunshine Coast, 150km north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. My location gives me easy access to the rest of Australia, the South Pacific islands, New Zealand and South-East Asia.
I have many years of experience in underwater videographer work — especially filming people, scenery and marine wildlife. I take care not to damage the underwater marine environment while shooting.
My filming rate includes all camera and scuba equipment. I shoot with the broadcast-quality Panasonic HVX200: high definition DVCPRO-HD 1080p and 720p, variable frame rates, and DV-PAL. I use this camera with a commercial grade Gates underwater housing and an underwater video monitor.
I have a combination of ports and diopters that allow me to shoot from super-wide (120°) to super-macro. For excellent colours, I use high powered LED underwater video lights or UR-PRO filters. For steady lock-shots I use an underwater tripod that I customized.
