Juveniles are bright yellow. As they develop into adults they can remain completely yellow. Some, however, change to a grey-purple-pinkish colour with blue markings on the scales. These have a distinct yellow saddle like area covering the upper half of the caudal peduncle. Their habitat includes coastal reefs, lagoons, and outer reef areas.

Size: Length 50cm (Maximum)

Diet: Fishes, Small Gastropods, Crabs, Shrimp, Octopus, Crustaceans & Worms.
