Yellow-edged MorayGymnothorax flavimarginatus
A yellow body covered in dark brown mottled spots and blotches. The head can appear to be a dark purplish colour at times and the gill is covered by a black blotch similar to that of other species. They are a curious eel often noted by divers around the northern waters of Australia along coastal and outer reefs. Caution should be taken when eels are sighted, although they are considered to be normally quite placid their jaws and teeth may inflict harmful wounds if provoked or caught off guard.
