Widebody PipefishStigmatopora nigra

The Wide-body Pipefish (Stigmatopora nigra) has a slender body and elongated snout they are variable in colour depending on location from a yellow/light brown to green. Females have a broader snout and display a red bar below when the body is extended to its full length. They are commonly found in and amongst weeds, algae and seagrass in estauries, bays and shallow coastal waters. Size: 16 cm Diet: Small Crustaceans & Invertebrates |
