White-eyed Moray

Easily recognised by its distinct white eyes this Moray eel is usually a pale brown with darker brown spots/blotches over the entire body. The face a pale to dark grey (depending on light and depth may reflect as a shade of purple). Usually found in pairs along coastal and offshore reefs, along reef flats and amongst shipwrecks. Although considered placid, caution should be taken when sighted as their jaws and teeth may inflict harmful wounds if provoked or caught off guard.
