Silver bodied with black spot on the operculum (just behind the gill cover). Juveniles display a yellow line running from the pectoral fin to the caudal peduncle. The caudal fin is yellow which also runs to the base of the dorsal and anal fin. The yellow generally fades as adulthood is reached, though species located in the Northern Hemisphere are known to maintain the yellow through adulthood. Usually found in bays, estauries and coastal waters. Size: Length 1m (Maximum) Diet: Plankton & Invertebrates |
