Vagabond ButterflyfishChaetodon vagabundus
The Vagabond Butterfly fish is very similar to the Threadfin Butterfly fish but does not have the (thread) extending from the dorsal fin. The body is striped diagonally from the nape facing upwards and the body is set at right angles facing downwards. The rear has a vertical black bar prior to the yellow dorsal/caudal and anal fin. Through the caudal fin a thin blue margin runs over the top from the nape to the dorsal fins. Juveniles have the black spot on the tip of dorsal fin which fades into adulthood. They are usually seen in pairs along coastal reefs. Size: Length 23cm (Maximum) Diet: Algae, Anemones, Coral Polyps & Crustaceans |
