Tiger SharkGaleocerdo cuvier
Grey bodied with dark grey to black spots and vertical 'tiger' stripes along the entire body length. The entire underneath is white in colour. They have a broad, rounded snout with large serrated and cockscomb like teeth. They can be found in many different habitats including harbours, along jetties, around wharves, in coastal waters, lagoons, river estuaries and coral atolls. Have been seen in the open ocean, however not classified as an oceanic species. Size: Length 7.5m (Maximum) Diet: Sharks, Squid, Rays, Bony Fishes, Crustaceans, Sea Snakes, Gastropods, Turtles, Sea Birds, Marine Mammals, Armored Fish, Porpoises, Whales, Cephalopods, Land Animals, Indigestible Garbage & has been known to eat Humans. |
