Threeband Butterflyfish

The Threeband Butterflyfish (Chaetodon tricinctus) Has thick black and white bands with orange fins and snout. Orange is also lighlty brushed through some of the white bands. Found around the border of NSW and Queensland, however mainly around Lord Howe Island. Inh abit coral rich areas of lagoons and reefs. Swim in small groups except when breeding when they are found in pairs. Can be found at depths between 3 and 15 metres. Often found nibbling on coral polyps.
