Spotted Scat

(Other names Butterfish, Mia Mia, Spotted Butterfish, Tiger Butterfish and Tiger Scat)

A greenish body with silver underneath, and numerous dark spots over the body. The more mature the fish generally the fainter the spots are. Juveniles tend to have a few vertical dark bars and in the next stage develop a few large spots which spread out and become smaller as adults. They are commonly found in and around harbours, sheltered bays and estauries along coastal reefs.

Size: 38 cm in length (Maximum)

Diet: Worms and Crustaceans.
