Spotted Garden-eelHeteroconger hassi
Inhabiting sandy bottomed floors in which they live in burrows and are often seen rising up from these to feed on food which is received from the moving currents. They quickly retreat when approached to the security of their burrows where they spend all their time. A beautiful patterned eel with a white body covered by small defined black spots. Three black blotches can be found located down the body. They can be found in the northern tropical waters of Australia commonly in the Great Barrier Reef.
