Spiny-tail PullerAcanthochromis polyacanthus
(Other names Spiny Puller, Spiny Chromis & Spotty-tail.)
Colours vary depending on location. Mostly throughout the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) it has a dark body with white tail. In southern parts it can be uniformly grey with a purply haze. Or north GBR it can be found brown with a white tail. Inhabit coastal and outer reef lagoons, often where there is current along drop-offs and deep slopes. Fry are guarded by parents, then they form schools until almost adults. Size: Length 14cm (Maximum) Diet: Zooplankton, benthic algae |
