Southern Orange-lined Cardinalfish

Similar to the Orange-lined Cardinalfish (Apogon cyanosoma) This Cardinalfish displays fewer silver vertical lines and more (thicker) orange bands. The lower half of the fish, starting in line with the pectoral fin generally all orange. Although usually almost see through the fins can appear to be pinkish in colour. Can inhibit coastal and outer reefs in small to large groups.

Size: 8.5cm (Maximum)

Diet: Small invertebrates, planktonic crustaceans, zooplankton
