Southern Fiddler RayTrygonorrhina guaneria
Although Southern Fiddler Ray (Trygonorrhina guaneriais) is very similar to the Eastern fiddler and is often classed as this, their a couple of differences that separate the two. The southern ray is much lighter and more grey in colour especially around the dorsal area. The pattern on the back is almost identical except it does not have a triangular marking behind the eyes, instead just a line in the centre. They are commonly found around coastal bays, estauries, inshore and offshore reefs and in areas with seagrasses and sandy/muddy bottoms. Size: 126 cm Diet: Benthic Invertebrates |
