Snout-spot Grouper

This Grouper is brown bodied and has incomplete whitish bands/blotches over the head and body. The caudal peduncle has a distinct dark bar over the top and the snout displays two dark spots (hence the name) that look almost like nostrils. On the side of the body including the cheek and fins numerous small black spots are displayed. They can be found along coral and outer reefs often hiding in caves and under ledges.

Size: 90cm in length (maximum)
