Sixband AngelfishPomacanthus sexstriatus
(Other names Sixbar Angelfish, Six-banded Angelfish)
The Sixband Anglefish (Pomacanthus sexstriatus) Vary in colour between juvenile and adult stages of growth. Juveniles black bodied with numerous white vertical bars along the entire body length. Bright blue lines also displayed around the entire length of the body. As they develop into adulthood body colour changes to off-white to pale yellow with numerous small blue spots of the entire body including the caudal fin but excluding the head. The blue line around the outer body remains. Head develops into black and a distinct vertical white bar is displayed just behind the eye. Six black vertical bars run along the body starting from behind the pectoral fin down to the tail. Can be seen in coastal and protected inner reefs. Size: 45cm in length Diet: Algae |
