The Silver Squirrelfish (Neoniphon argenteus) is a slender shaped fish that is usually found around coral reefs, they seem to favour the staghorn corals and will hang there just above the coral until it feels threatened, it will then retreat to the safety of the branches. 

The body is silver in colour with small dark or red spots running along the entire length of the body. The dorsal fin is mainly transparent, with white tips at the top of each of the dorsal spines. The second dorsal, anal and caudal fin all have red bars on them.

Size: 24 cm in length

Diet: Benthic invertebrates
