Silver BatfishMonodactylus argenteus
(Other names Butter Bream, Butterfish, Diamondfish or Silver Moony)
Adults usually found in very large numbers in estuaries, bays and coastal reefs. The Silver Batfish is an un-shy fish quite happy to approach divers. Deep bodied in shape with black tipped yellow dorsal and anal fins. The whole body is silver with a prominent black bar that cuts through the eye, on some fish a second black bar is visible behind the first running down to the gill.
