Silver Batfish

Adults usually found in very large numbers in estuaries, bays and coastal reefs. The Silver Batfish is an un-shy fish quite happy to approach divers. Deep bodied in shape with black tipped yellow dorsal and anal fins. The whole body is silver with a prominent black bar that cuts through the eye, on some fish a second black bar is visible behind the first running down to the gill.

Size: Grows to about 28 cm

Diet: Consists of detritus and plankton
