Sharp-nose GrubfishParapercis cylindrica
(Other names Cylindrical Sandperch, Sharpnose Sandperch)
A whitish body with numerous brown irregular bars over the back (roughly 8-9) and along the lower half of the body. Black markings can be found at the beginning of the bars at the base of the dorsal fin. The remaining body is made up of irregular brown blotches which often adjoin the bars. Can be found under ledges in coastal reefs, sandy and weedy bottomed areas and estauries. Size: 24 cm in length (maximum) Diet: small fishes, crustaceans, larvae |
