Sawtail SurgeonfishPrionurus microlepidotus
(Other names Sixplate Sawtail)
The body is grey to brown in colour with all fins generally darker than the body colour. The pectoral fin has alternating black and white stripes. There are between five and seven small black blotches running vertically along the side of the body (towards the end of the fish) and ending at the caudal peduncle. They are commonly found along coastal reefs around rocky outcrops and overhangs. Size: Length 70cm (Maximum) Diet: Benthic Algae |
