Sailfin Surgeonfish

Zebrasoma veliferum

The body is made up of a number of alternating vertical bands. White bands have thin yellow bands running through them and the broad darker bands have smaller golden brown bands running over them. The face is white with darker spots and the caudal peduncle displays a blue blotch (with dark fin)and may be white with a yellow fin in juveniles and young adults. They are commonly found along coastal and coral reefs.
