Rough FlutemouthFistularia petimba
Juveniles with alternating brown and white bands running along the entire body, with the white sections often also displaying small brown irregular markings. As they develop into adults their body colour becomes silver and displays very small irregular bright blue lines and spots generally over the top of the body. They are commonly observed in the deeper waters off coastal reefs but are also found close to shore. Size: Length 2m (Maximum) Diet: Small fish, shrimps |
