Red Throated Emperor

This emperor has a silver to grey body with dark, almost black scales. The cheek and snout area lack the presence of scales and displays a rather smooth complexion. The body is also known to display erratic black or white blotches and irregular bars. It is reddish around the eye area with a bar running down the edge of the cheek. The base of the pectoral fin is commonly red as well as the beginning of the dorsal fin. They can be found in small schools along coastal and coral reefs around sandy and rubble bottoms.

Diet: Crustaceans, Fish & Mollusks
