Queensland Yellowtail Angelfish

juveniles are black bodied with yellow edging around the caudal peduncle and anal area which turns to blue in adulthood. The snout, forehead, ventral, pectoral and caudal fins also yellow. Displays a distinct white vertical bar just behind the eye which remains in as they mature.

In adulthood face becomes blue with small yellow dots. The pectoral and caudal fins turn to black with just the edge remaining yellow. The yellow marking on the snout and forehead remain.

The Queensland Yellowtail Angelfish usually inhabit coastal reefs and rocky areas where corals and sponges are dominate.
