Easily recognised by its unique appearance, yellow to orange bodied with black mosaic pattern over the entire body and head. Small spikes adorn the body (hence the name Pineapplefish). Bioluminescent bacteria inhabit the light organs found on the sides of the mouth. This glow is usually reflected as green, but occasionally red in mature adults.This glow alows the fish to hunt at night. Usually found in rocky habitats and along coral reefs.

Size: 25cm in length (Maximum)

Diet: small fish, shrimp
