Pacific Longnose Parrotfish

The body colour varies depending on the stage of growth. As mature adults they have a light greenish body with orange margins on the scales and they tail is often blue. As young adults they have a whitish pale brown to grey body with a distinct yellow tail (pictured). Juveniles are similar in colour but have a broad orange band. They are commonly found in sheltered and sandy bottomed areas along coastal and coral reefs forming small aggregations.
