Ornate GhostpipefishSolenostomus paradoxus
(Other names Harlequin Ghost Pipefish)
Their colour is highly variable from semi-transparent to black with spots, lines and rings scribbled over their body, that are red, yellow or white in colour. They have 'japanese-fan like' fins. They have small soft spikes covering body particularly around head and tail. They inhabit protected coastal reefs close to rocky drop-offs and coral outcrops. Often seen in small groups or pairs but usually solitary. Size: 10cm (Maximum) Diet: Mysids & Benthic Shrimps |
