Orange-line WrasseHalichoeres hartzfeldii
(Other names Hartzfeld's Wrasse)
Males are bluish-grey to green in colour, with an orange band extending from behind the eye to the caudal. They also have pinkish markings on their face and a pinkish haze brushed over their back. Females are less extravagant, lacking the ornamental colouring. Orange-line Wrasse inhabit seaward reefs, preferring open expanses of sand and rubble usually at depths of around 11m. They tend to form small loose groups of one male and several smaller females and juveniles, traveling over large areas. Size: Length 18cm (Maximum) Diet: Benthic Crustaceans & Worms |
