Oblique-banded Sweetlips

Juveniles white bodied with horizontal black bars running from head to tail. Yellow over face and eyes and around the edges of outer body. As they develop into adults the bars break up into smaller oblique positioned bars on the upper body and numerous black spots along the mid body and median fins. They remain white bodied with a yellow mouth and fins. Usually found in outer reefs in deeper water as well as along coastal reefs.

Size: 60cm in length (Maximum)

Diet: Benthic invertebrates
