Masked Rabbitfish

Identified by its distinct mask like banding running from the bottom of the snout through the eye to the top of the head. It is a bluish colour with small dark spots on the upper half above the eye. The body and fins of this fish are yellow with the body generally fading to white below and is covered in numerous white (sometimes very pale blue) squiggly lines. The fins have numerous small spines associated with venom glands which can inflict quite alot of pain. They can be found in lagoons, coastal and coral reefs in large schools.

Diet: Algae, tunicates & sponges
