Lyre-tail HawkfishCyprinocirrhites polyactis

This Hawkfish can be variable in colour. Its colour can often range from orange to pink to brown bodied with a yellow shading around the caudal fin area. They generally have a faint mottle pattern on the body which is more evident in juveniles. Unlike other hawkfish this particular type can be found around mid water feeding on zooplankton. They are known to inhibit steep sloped areas and rocky outcrops. Size: 15cm in length (Maximum) Diet: Zooplankton |
