The Luculent Wrasse (Pseudolabrus luculentus) colours are highly variable from grey to brown to bright orange and red-brown. These disparities depend on life stage and/or their environment. Their sex can be determined quite easily. Males have black and white splotching near the dorsal fin, whereas females have several lateral white lines under their eyes. They inhabit clear coastal to offshore reefs usually near the base of drop-offs at depths around 10-50m. Size: Length 25cm (Maximum) Diet: Benthic Crustaceans & Worms |
