Longnose WeedfishHeteroclinus tristis
(Other names Sharp-nose Weedfish)
The Longnose Weedfish (Heteroclinus tristis) Can be variable in colour depending on geographic location but is commonly brown bodied with numerous white markings (lines, spots, squiggles) some of which are margined in black over the entire body and head. Their snout is much pointier than other Weedfishes which helps to identify them from the rest. They are commonly found amongst weeds in sandy bottomed shallow reefs and seagrass areas.
