Latticed Butterflyfish

A series of yellow diamond shaped scales cover body, like a cross hatched pattern. It has two black bands one hiding its eyes and the other on its tail fin. Juveniles hide away in small Acropora coral heads. The adults form pairs inhabiting areas of rich coral growth in lagoons, protected reef flats and seaward reefs.

Size: 20cm (maximum)

Diet: Sea anemones, hard corals, zoobenthos, benthic invertebrates
