Juveniles and adults are both black bodied. The difference between the stages is the juvenile displays a white bar behind the pectoral fin. As they develop into adulthood this white bar becomes a spot / blotch which may vary greatly in size and shape. The base of the ventral and anal fin develops into yellow and the caudal fin develops a fine blue line around the edge. Usually found along coastal reefs and rocky areas of lagoons and outer reef areas. Size: 19cm in length Diet: Algae |
