Jansen's WrasseThalassoma jansenii
(Other names Black-finned Wrasse, Blackbarred Wrasse)
Jansen's Wrasse (Thalassoma jansenii) Males with two white to yellow bands, one located just off to the centre and the other just behind the pectoral fin. Displays white from under the mouth down to the chest and belly. A yellow band can also be seen on the caudal peduncle. The pectoral and caudal fins are blue in colour. Females and juveniles are very similar in colour. They are generally black bodied with a distinct white band and white area below the mouth running under the belly down to the caudal peduncle. Usually found along coastal reefs and lagoons. Size: 25cm in length Diet: Zoobenthos & Benthic invertebrates |
