High-tailed shrimpThor amboinensis
With a brownish orange body and large white spots margined in bright blue, this shrimp is known to exhibit quite a unique behaviour. During times of accelerated tension it stretches its tail right up and waves it about which in turn creates the tail and abdomen to sit almost vertically right up. They inhabit coral reefs where anemones and corals make a good retreat for them. Size: 2cm in length (Maximum) Diet: Zooplankton |
