Grey Nurse SharkCarcharias taurus

Grey to brown coloured body above and pale grey underneath. They have dark grey spots on the side, which are not as evident on fully matured adults . They have a short pointed snout with protruding 'fang-like' teeth when the mouth is closed. The dorsal and anal fins are all of similar size, which is a distinct characteristic of this shark. It can usually be found in coastal waters around caves, ledges and drop offs, these are their typical breeding zones.
