Forster's HawkfishParacirrhites forsteri
(Other names Blackside Hawkfish, Freckled Hawkfish)
Although very variable in colour, is easily identified from other Hawkfishes by its small red to black spots over the head and black bar that runs horizontally starting mid body and ending on the caudal peduncle. Orange to red and white to yellow bodied, this will vary amongst each fish. Found along coastal reefs and coral rich habitats. Size: 20cm (maximum) Diet: Crustaceans & small fish |
