Fire DamselPomacentrus bankanensis

Juveniles and adults variable in colour. Juveniles orange to red bodied with fine bright blue lines running horizontally from the head to the middle of the body. Also have a number of small blue spots scattered over the upper body. These markings remain in adulthood but fade slightly. A blue egded ocellus (spot) also distinct on the soft dorsal fin. Adults lower body colour changes to a light brown and the orange on top fades slightly. The base of the caudal fin is white. Usually found in reef lagoons and outer reef slopes.
