Fimbriated morayGymnothorax fimbriatus
This eel has a whitish grey body, which can often be a very pale brown with numerous irregular dark brown to black blotches and spots over the body. The head and tip of the lower jaw are a yellowish green. They are often found hiding in protected areas of coastal and outer reefs. Caution should be taken when eels are sighted, although they are considered to be normally quite placid their jaws and teeth may inflict harmful wounds if provoked or caught off guard.
