Filament-fin ParrotfishScarus altipinnis

The colour is variable depending on the stage of growth. Juveniles have a grayish body with black horizontal lines and a yellow snout. Young adults are a reddish brown with a few small white spots on the side of the body. Adults have green body and each scale is edged in a pale pink, there is usually a number of bright blue markings around the mouth area. They are commonly found in the tropical waters along the north east coast of Australia near seaward reefs. Size: 60cm in length (Maximum) Diet: Algae |
