This Goby is identified by two particular features. It has small yellow to orange spot located above the pectoral fin and a black bar running over the head through both eyes and under. The body is pale in colour and is made up of numerous red, brown, and faint blue and white spots and blotches which can be closely linked to form an irregular pattern of lines along the body. The blotches are generally larger on the bottom half. They can be found along coastal and coral reefs around sandy/rubble bottoms and hiding under rocky ledges.
