Emperor Angelfish

In its juvenile form the Emperor Angelfish (Pomacanthus imperator) is blue and black bodied with a distinct white circle near its cordal fin and half circles of blue and white over its entire body turning to stripes over fits facial area. As it transforms into adulthood the cordal fin turns to yellow and horizontal yellow stripes are displayed across the length of its body. The eye and pictorial fin are black with an electric blue edge. The mouth turns to blue.

Both adults and juveniles are usually found in and around the habitats of coral reefs.

Size: Grows to about 38 cm

Diet: Consists of sponges, tunicates.
