Eastern TalmaChelmonops truncatus

Eastern Talma (Chelmonops truncatus) A wedged shaped fish from the tip of its short snout to the point of its very triangular dorsal and anal fin. The body colour is mostly silver with black bars commencing from the eye bar, growing in width towards the rear. The final silver stripe has more of a brownish shade. Juvenilles have a more rounded body and a black spot on the dorsal and anal fin. Adults are usually found in pairs along rocky reefs, estuaries and coastal bays. Size: Length 22cm (Maximum) Diet: Algae & Small Invertebrates. |
