Eastern Blue GroperAchoerodus viridis
As they age they passes through several phases. All juveniles are females and are a green in colour and hide amongst sea-grasses. Then as they mature they enter into a period where they can be either male or female. When they finally reach the terminal stage their sex is determined. Males become a bright blue colour and females a reddish brown splotched colour. They venture over large areas of reefs, inhabiting estuaries and offshore to 40m.
