Dash-and-Dot Goatfish

Usually white with yellow horizontal stripe across back, with a black one below that. They have a large black 'dot' just before the tail. Deeper dwelling fish can turn a red and white splotched colour all over. They inhabits large sand patches in groups or solitarily as well as sand and rubble areas of reef flats, and lagoon and seaward reefs.

Size: 60cm (Maximum)- Usually 30cm

Diet: Crustaceans & Worms
