Clown TriggerfishBalistoides conspicillum
(Other names Big-spotted triggerfish)
Juvenile Clown Triggerfish (Balistoides conspicillum) are black bodied with numerous white spots over entire body. A white band across the face just below the eyes which remains as adulthood is reached. Displays a yellow snout which becomes more defined as the fish ages. Spots become larger as the fish grows and only remain on the lower half of the body. The upper half of the body displays a yellow mosaic style patch. Usually found along coastal reefs hiding among caves and overhangs and along outer reefs slopes. Size: 50cm (Maximum) Diet: Sea urchins, crustaceans, mollusks & tunicates |
