Bull SharkCarcharhinus leucas
Recognised by its broad mouth and short blunt snout. Grey in colour over the body but white underneath, fins may also display darker tips, this is usually found on juveniles. This species displays two dorsal fins, the first two thirds as high as the second. Teeth on the upper jaw are a saw-edged / serrated and triangular in shape. Can be found in coastal waters, estauries, canals and freshwater canals. Size: 350cm in length Diet: Sharks, crabs, sea urchins, turtles, squid, mantis shrimp, mammalian carrion, sea snails, rays, bony fishes. |
