Bridled ParrotfishScarus frenatus
The female is pale brown to red in colour on the body and fins and has a number of relatively thick lines running horizontally along the side of the body down starting from just behind the pectoral fin and running down to the caudal peduncle. Here the lines tend to break up over the scales forming a diamond shape pattern. Males are different shades of green over the body with tints of blue and have a distinct thick pale band over the caudal peduncle. They also have a number of pinkish lines around the mouth and head area. They are often found along the coastal and coral reefs of the northern regions of Australia.
